They only coached their teams for six and five games this month, respectively, but Nate McMillan of the Indiana Pacers and Doc Rivers of the Los Angeles Clippers have been honored for their work on the sidelines in April.

McMillan and Rivers have been named Eastern and Western Conference Coaches of the Month, after guiding their squads to a collective 10-1 record to finish the season.

McMillan's Pacers won their final five games and went 5-1 in April to sneak into the playoffs as the East's 7-seed. They won those games by an average margin of 15 points, and beat fellow East playoff teams in the Toronto Raptors, Milwaukee Bucks, and Atlanta Hawks (though the Hawks were resting their starters). And the one game they lost - a double-overtime thriller against their impending first-round foe, the Cleveland Cavaliers - may have been their most impressive performance of the bunch.

Rivers' Clippers went 5-0 in April to close the regular season on a seven-game winning streak and steal home-court advantage in their first-round matchup with the Utah Jazz. Though the month featured a few cupcake games, the Clippers still handily beat the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets with both those teams effectively at full strength.
