Grizzlies' Marc Gasol: Ruled out Friday vs. Mavericks
Gasol (foot) won't play Friday against the Mavericks.
Analysis:
It's the fourth straight absence due to the left foot strain for Gasol, who was still experiencing pain after being evaluated at morning shootaround Friday. With the playoffs approaching and the Grizzlies seemingly intact as either the sixth or seventh seed in the Western Conference, it wouldn't be a surprise if the team decides proceed with caution with their star big man through the rest of the regular season. Until another update is made, however, Gasol will likely continue to be evaluated on a game-by-game basis. Both Brandan Wright and Zach Randolph will be in line to take on more minutes in Gasol's absence Friday, with Wright expected to draw the start after handling those duties Wednesday.
