Lonzo Ball declares for NBA draft immediately after UCLA loss
Well, he certainly didn't waste any time.
Immediately after UCLA was eliminated from the NCAA tournament Friday night, superstar freshman Lonzo Ball announced his intention to enter the NBA draft.
"That was my final game for UCLA and I appreciate all the fans and all the support," he said after the game, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.
Ball, a contender to be the first overall pick in June's draft, enjoyed a remarkable campaign that saw him finish with the second-most assists in a single season in Pac-12 history while running the point for UCLA.
He came into Sweet 16 action averaging 14.7 points and 7.6 assists per game, and posted 10 points and eight assists versus the Wildcats.
Ball is the first of several Bruins who figure to get NBA attention as the draft approaches.
TJ Leaf, Aaron Holiday and Thomas Welsh said they haven't decided about coming back next season or not.

Though he only spent one season at UCLA, he'll go down as one of the program's all-time greats. His younger brothers, LiAngelo and LaMelo, are still in high school, but are committed to play for UCLA, and will look to build on their oldest brother's legacy at Pauley Pavilion.
