Wizards' Markieff Morris: Cleared to play, will start

Morris (illness) will start Monday's game against the Celtics.

Analysis:

An illness kept Morris out of action Friday against Chicago and Saturday in Charlotte, but as expected he'll return to action Monday as the Wizards take on the Celtics. Morris' scoring numbers have decreased over his last nine games, and he's averaging just 9.8 points per game in March after putting up 17.3 per game in January and 17.6 per game in February. The Kansas product's field goal percentage is down to 42.5 percent in March, though the larger factor is a tangible decrease in volume. In February, Morris was attempting 13.8 field goals and 3.6 free throws per game. This month, those averages are down to 8.9 field goals and 2.0 free throws per game, respectively.
