Watch: Barclays crowd erupts as Westbrook notches 33rd triple-double

USA Today Sports

Russell Westbrook is giving everyone something to cheer about - even fans of opposing teams.

The Oklahoma City Thunder superstar lit up the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday to notch his 33rd triple-double of the season - and his second against the Nets. As Westbrook grabbed his 10th board in the fourth quarter to complete the feat, he received an ovation from the Barclays Center crowd.

The audience also showered the All-Star with "MVP" chants earlier in the contest.

In fairness to the Brooklyn faithful, their club has given them little to celebrate this season; at 12-54, the Nets are by far the worst club in the NBA. They won't benefit from losing, either, as the Boston Celtics own their lottery pick in the upcoming draft.

Westbrook finished with 25 points, 19 assists, and 12 rebounds in OKC's 122-104 win. Now 80 percent through the regular season, the MVP contender is still averaging a triple-double.
