Pelicans' DeMarcus Cousins: Sits down stretch Saturday
Cousins scored 11 points (4-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-5 FT) while adding four rebounds and four assists in 25 minutes during Saturday's 125-122 overtime win over the Hornets.
Analysis:
After committing his fifth foul early in the fourth quarter, Cousins never got back on the court and had to sit and watch as Anthony Davis took over the game and led the Pelicans to victory. While it's too early to say that the experiment of having the two big men together in the same frontcourt is a bust, New Orleans is just 2-6 with Cousins in the lineup while Boogie is averaging 4.5 fouls and 4.3 turnovers a game as a Pelican, blunting the impact of his 20.8 points, 12.3 boards, 3.8 assists, 1.5 three-pointers and 1.3 steals per night.
