Pistons' Jon Leuer: Makes minimal impact after moving to bench

Leuer scored zero points (0-1 FG) and delivered one assist in 13 minutes off the bench during Thursday's 106-101 win over the Cavaliers.

Analysis:

Coach Stan Van Gundy was looking to mix things up to help break the Pistons out of their recent skid, so Leuer headed back to the bench for the first time since Dec. 21, while sixth man Tobias Harris moved back into the starting five. Harris didn't have a particularly productive outing with 15 points on 5-of-18 shooting from the field, but Van Gundy ended up riding him heavily, as the forward logged 41 minutes. That left limited time left over for Leuer, which was somewhat surprising considering that he had been one of the team's more productive performers since early February. Given that the Pistons were able to pull off the win, it looks as though Leuer could come off the bench for at least another game, but don't expect the playing time disparity between Leuer and Harris to be quite as dramatic as it was Thursday.
