NBA sets new single-season record for collective triple-doubles

We are living in the golden age of the triple-double.

Ricky Rubio's 11-point, 13-rebound, 10-assist outing Saturday night was the 79th triple-double recorded in the NBA in 2016-17, the most in any season in league history - with about a quarter of the season still left to play.

Naturally, Russell Westbrook - who's still averaging a triple-double - is buoying the rest of the field, with 30 of them in 62 games so far. But he isn't the only one who's been filling up the stat sheet on the regular, as James Harden (15), LeBron James (seven), Nikola Jokic, and Draymond Green (four apiece) have all racked up their fair share.

Rubio is the 21st player to record a triple-double this season.
