Pelicans' Jack out 4-6 weeks with torn meniscus

Well, that didn't take long.

Just a week after signing a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, point guard Jarrett Jack was ruled out for four-to-six weeks Friday with a torn meniscus in his right knee.

That's the same knee in which Jack tore his ACL last season, putting him on the shelf for over a year. He played in just two games in his return with the Pelicans, averaging three points, 2.5 assists, and a steal in 16.5 minutes. The injury will be a bitter pill to swallow for a guy whose slow recovery saw him get waived by two different teams in the summer, and then fail to land a job for two-thirds of the season.

For the Pelicans, meanwhile, it's their second recent acquisition to immediately get injured, following forward Omri Casspi - who suffered a broken thumb in his first game in New Orleans.
