Curry won't let ongoing shooting slump deter him from hoisting up shots

If you go back deep into the vault, you'll surely find stretches over Stephen Curry's career where his shots weren't falling. However, if you happen to stumble upon some, chances are they won't be nearly as ugly as the one he's currently experiencing with the Golden State Warriors.

Thursday's 94-87 loss to the Chicago Bulls at the United Center was the third game in a row where The Chef was noticeably off - both in the box score, and with the eye test - shooting the rock. Curry finished the night with a team-high 23 points, albeit on 10-of-27 shooting from the field (37 percent), and 2-of-11 from 3-point range (18.2 percent).

As cold as he's been, the reigning back-to-back league MVP isn't at all shaken by his slump, and won't allow it to affect when and how often he looks to score on offense.

"I'm not making shots, but that doesn't change my approach," Curry said, according to the Bay Area News Group's Anthony Slater. "Obviously you want to take good ones, you don't just want to chuck them up. The reason I take them is I feel like I can make them. It's been that way my whole career. That won't change based on three games. You can't let that get under your skin at all.

"It will turn. We have to do other things around that so when it does turn, and we start making shots, we'll get back to who we are."

The Warriors need Curry's shots to start dropping again as soon as possible, especially now that Kevin Durant is out for what could be the remainder of the season after suffering an injury early in the game against Washington.

With Golden State now having lost consecutive games for the first time since 2015, both Curry and the team will look to bounce back on Sunday afternoon when they hit up Madison Square Garden to battle the New York Knicks. What's discouraging, though, is that the last time Curry took the floor in the Big Apple, he put up one of his worst offensive performances of the 2015-16 campaign with 13 points on 5-of-17 from the field.
