Watch: Thunder knock down first 12 threes vs. Jazz

USA Today Sports

Forget stats, the Oklahoma City Thunder came out on fire from long range.

Despite ranking dead last in the NBA in shooting from deep at just 32.2 percent, OKC started Tuesday's tilt against the Utah Jazz with a perfect 12-of-12 on long balls.

The Thunder are the first club to knock down their first dozen 3-point attempts in 19 years. It also marks the first time in 14 campaigns that a squad's hit 12 treys without a miss.

Russell Westbrook and Doug McDermott led the way with four treys apiece, while Alex Abrines, Jerami Grant, and Andre Roberson chipped in.

As uncharacteristic as it is for OKC to hit so many 3-pointers, it's just as strange for the Jazz to give up that many. Utah boasts one of the best defenses in the league, and typically allows opponents to hit only 8.1 threes per game (2nd) on 35.7 percent shooting.

The 3-point barrage helped Oklahoma City build a 61-53 halftime lead. Should the home team hold on, it'll move within two games of the fourth-place Jazz in the standings.
