Cavaliers' Deron Williams: Unlikely to play Monday
Williams wasn't present for the Cavaliers' morning shootaround and is unlikely to play in Monday against the Bucks, Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com reports.
Analysis:
After clearing waivers over the weekend, Williams isn't expected to officially sign with the Cavaliers until later Monday, and the team will likely want him to run him through a practice or two before using him in games. As a result, Williams' team debut isn't expected to come until Wednesday against the Celtics. He should immediately take over as the second-unit point guard, allowing starting shooting guard Iman Shumpert to spend most of his time exclusively on the wing.
