Free-agent point guard Jarrett Jack has agreed to a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

The Pelicans had a shortage of guards after flipping Tyreke Evans, Buddy Hield, and Langston Galloway to the Sacramento Kings for DeMarcus Cousins.

As a result, the trio of Jrue Holiday, Tim Frazier, and E'Twaun Moore split minutes at the point and shooting guard in Thursday's loss to the Houston Rockets.

Jack, a veteran of 11 seasons, averaged 12.8 points and 7.4 assists in 32 games with the Brooklyn Nets last season while shooting an abysmal 39.1 percent from the field. His season was cut short by an ACL injury.

The 33-year-old is a familiar face in New Orleans, as he played two seasons with the franchise in 2011 and 2012 when the team still operated under the Hornets moniker.
