Rockets' Lou Williams: Won't play Thursday vs. Pelicans

Williams won't be available to play in Thursday's game against the Pelicans, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Analysis:

Williams was traded to the Rockets on Tuesday in exchange for Corey Brewer and a draft pick, but it appears the Rockets will give him some extra time to get settled in and will hold him out Thursday. The Rockets fully expect Williams to take part in practice Friday and then make his debut with the team on Saturday against the Timberwolves. With Williams sitting out and Brewer no longer in the fold, Eric Gordon will have to play a huge role off the bench, while Sam Dekker could also temporarily get some extra run.
