Watch: LeBron 'very happy' Carmelo is now oldest 2017 All-Star

LeBron James has always been of the mindset that close friend Carmelo Anthony is worthy of being an All-Star, and now that the New York Knicks forward has been named an injury replacement for Kevin Love, The King will get an opportunity to play alongside his bosom buddy in New Orleans this weekend.

Plus, James is no longer the oldest player in this year's All-Star Game, which would have been the case for the first time in his career had the injury to his Cleveland Cavaliers teammate not occurred.

"Makes me happy," James told reporters Wednesday. "Makes me very happy. Now Melo is. Now Melo is. Yep, I'm happy about that."

James and Anthony are both 32 years old, although James will be turning 33 on Dec. 30, while Anthony has him beat by over seven months (May 29).
