Hernangomez replaces Mudiay in Rising Stars Challenge

New York Knicks center Willy Hernangomez will replace injured Denver Nuggets guard Emmanuel Mudiay for Team World at the Rising Stars Challenge at All-Star Weekend.

Mudiay has been sidelined for the last six games with a back injury.

Hernangomez, the 22-year-old rookie, is averaging 6.5 points and 5.9 rebounds in 15.3 minutes off the bench for the Knicks. He mostly operates below the rim, but the Spaniard has shown a deft finishing touch and willingness to bang bodies down low.
