Report: Durant hires extra security for return to OKC

Kevin Durant isn't taking any chances in his return to Oklahoma City.

Durant, along with his business manager Rich Kleiman, have tripled the usual amount of security Golden State typically travels with in anticipation of the expected hostile environment at Chesapeake Energy Arena on Saturday, league sources told ESPN's Chris Haynes.

Kleiman is reportedly expected to sit next to Durant's mother, Wanda, at Saturday's game, with a group of security guards specifically assigned to the pair.

While the Warriors aren't scheduled to practice on Saturday, Durant "won't be locked in his hotel room," and is expected to roam the city to an extent. Meanwhile, Kleiman is expected to visit some of the organizations that Durant was involved with during his time in OKC.

Durant's decision to leave the Thunder last summer did not sit well with many Oklahomans, as several fans even burned his jersey following the announcement that he was headed to the Warriors.

The former MVP admitted earlier this week that he didn't expect the "friendliest welcome," but said he's looking forward to seeing the people he connected with during eight seasons together.

Durant also reportedly reached out to LeBron James' agent, Rich Paul, to ask how the Cavaliers forward handled his return to Cleveland back in 2010. Paul emphasized the importance of having extra security, not reacting to insults, and keeping a close eye on his family's whereabouts.
