Love will undergo MRI, miss Monday's game vs. Mavericks
Kevin Love is dealing with some more back pain.
The Cleveland Cavaliers big man had his outing Sunday shortened due to back spasms. While the Cavs defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder handily sans their starter at the four-spot, the injury is concerning.
Love has dealt with back problems in the past, so the club is being cautious. Rather than risking exacerbating the issue, the All-Star's set to undergo an MRI, ESPN's Dave McMenamin reports. He's been ruled out of Monday's game against the Mavericks in Dallas, with Channing Frye possibly getting more burn in his absence.
The 28-year-old registered eight rebounds, but failed to make a shot in 12 minutes during Cleveland's 107-91 victory over OKC.
He tweaked his back earlier this month, leading him to play limited minutes Jan. 16 against the Golden State Warriors and sit out altogether Jan. 19 versus the Phoenix Suns.
