The Boston Celtics are interested in improving their putrid rebounding numbers (41.1, 28th), with a potential solution perhaps coming in the form of center Nikola Vucevic.

Management has reportedly held talks with the Orlando Magic over possible trades for the 7-footer, according to CSNNE.com's A. Sherrod Blakely.

Vucevic's name has been bantered about in a number of trade rumors over the past month or so, with Orlando reportedly willing to send him elsewhere after he was moved to the second unit, which the 26-year-old wasn't necessarily on board with.

He's since been reinserted into the starting lineup, averaging 16.6 points and 7.5 rebounds in 28.7 minutes over his last eight outings.

"You try not to pay too much attention to it and focus on what you can do," Vucevic said. "And just focus on what you can do which is your play and do your best to help the team win.

"There's been a lot (of rumors) about me this season. I haven't paid attention to it. I don't read that much. It's all rumors; you can't control them. At the end of the day, what happens, happens."

Vucevic is currently tied with LeBron James in double-doubles with 19 on the season. The Celtics as a team only have 21.

He has two years remaining on a four-year, $53-million extension he signed back in 2014, and is averaging a near double-double of 13.8 points and 9.8 rebounds on 47.3 percent shooting in 44 total appearances.
