Cavs need to make a move, LeBron repeats on Twitter

During his 20-minute conversation with reporters Monday night in which he implored the Cleveland Cavaliers to go out and address backcourt depth issues, LeBron James also said he'd take his message to Twitter.

He did that Tuesday afternoon, stating that while general manager David Griffin has done a good job, it isn't finished.

It's been a running joke since James returned to Cleveland in 2014 that he and agent Rich Paul are the Cavaliers' true power brokers, but it's difficult to recall a star player in any sport pleading for reinforcements via social media.

That isn't to suggest James is wrong. J.R. Smith's absence has hurt the Cavs, and behind Kyrie Irving at backup point guard are journeyman DeAndre Liggins and rookie Kay Felder.

"No disrespect to DeAndre and to Kay, you think we can rely on them to help us win a playoff game right now?" James said Monday. "And it's no disrespect to them. But it's like, it's not fair to them."

Various rumors have linked the Cavs to veterans like Jameer Nelson and even Rajon Rondo, although Griffin stated recently that the trade market is not in favor of acquiring a point guard.

The Cavs are 4-6 since 2017 dawned, but they still hold top spot in the East, in part because the second-place Toronto Raptors have also struggled of late.
