Pelicans' Anthony Davis: Expects to play Monday vs. Cavaliers

Davis (quad) is expected to play Monday against the Cavaliers, Justin Verrier of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Davis missed his second consecutive day of practice Sunday with a right quad bruise, but it's not believed that it's anything very serious, as other reports have suggested that it's just a charley horse. The Pelicans are likely just holding Davis out of practice as a safeguard, but assuming he takes part in the team's morning shootaround Monday, he should be available later in the evening and isn't expected to face any restrictions. The quad injury is just one of a number of minor bumps and bruises that Davis has nursed in recent games, but since an absence doesn't appear to be in store, fantasy owners should feel comfortable including him in lineups this week.
