Sleeved jerseys don't sell, and players hate playing in them - Nike knows this and is here to do something about it.

Since the inception of the NBA sleeved jersey in 2013, the topic of whether or not they're necessary has been a persistent issue. With Nike taking over for Adidas as the NBA's main jersey supplier starting next season, the global apparel brand has no plans to continue the fad.

"Nike, meanwhile, is expected to present its initial NBA jersey designs to retailers beginning this week," wrote Paul Lukas of Uni Watch, quoting Sara Germano of the Wall Street Journal. "The company said it doesn’t plan to produce sleeved jerseys, a style debuted by Adidas in 2013 that received mixed reviews from players and fans."

With the inception of advertisements to NBA jerseys starting next season, the landscape of NBA jerseys will undoubtedly be very different, especially with Nike's new role, along with many teams' plans for a complete redesign of their looks.
