Pelicans' Anthony Davis: Questionable to return Monday
Davis suffered a left hip injury on a hard foul during the third quarter of Monday's game against the Knicks and is questionable to return.
Analysis:
Davis was pushed in the back by Kyle O'Quinn during a layup attempt and landed awkwardly in the first row of the stands. O'Quinn was given a Flagrant 2 foul and ejected the game, and while Davis was able to shoot his subsequent free-throw attempts, he retreated to the locker room after shooting. Given that the Pelicans were leading big at the time of Davis' departure, it seems unlikely that he'll return, but he at least contributed a big line before departing, producing 40 points (14-22 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 11-12 FT), 18 rebounds, three blocks and two steals in 29 minutes. The Pelicans figure to provide an update on Davis' condition before long.
