Pistons chuckle over coach's decision to put giant Marjanovic on inbounder

With just 0.2 seconds remaining in the second overtime period and his team up by one point Sunday, Detroit Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy wanted to ensure the Portland Trail Blazers wouldn't have a solid look at the basket for a potential tip-in at the buzzer.

His genius plan in the huddle was to insert 7-foot-3 Serbian Boban Marjanovic into the game, despite having not played him a second prior. Marjanovic would be tasked with simply trying to impede the inbounds pass from Portland, and nothing more.

Several of the big man's teammates were on board with the idea, even giggling about it.

Van Gundy and players on Detroit's bench did have to feed Marjanovic instructions during the final play just to be safe, though.
