Embiid feels Sixers 'have a chance' to make playoffs

Following a 105-95 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday afternoon, the Philadelphia 76ers find themselves 7.5 games back of the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, and a potential berth in this year's playoffs.

It's not out of the realm of possibility for Philly to climb their way back into the postseason picture with 47 games remaining in the 2016-17 campaign. Rookie of the Year favorite and "process"-driven big man Joel Embiid has high hopes he and his teammates can continue their winning ways and make things interesting, at the very least.

"I think we have a chance. We've been hot lately," he said, according to The Associated Press. "We've won three out of four lately, so I look at it, and I think we have a chance, and we're really figuring things out. We're starting to learn how to win games."

The victory was the 76ers' 10th of the season, a sign that the franchise is heading in the right direction after winning 10 games all of last year.

After going an even 41-41 with a trip to the conference semifinals in 2012, Philadelphia has found itself dropping more and more games every year since, bottoming out in 2015-16 at 10-72.

Leading the way after missing the first two years of his career with an injured foot is Embiid, who finished with a line of 20 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two rejections in 23 minutes against Brooklyn. It was the sixth-straight game the 22-year-old had 20 or more points in fewer than 30 minutes, making him the first player to accomplish that feat since minutes started being recorded in 1951-52.
