Report: Grizzlies listening to trade offers for Tony Allen

USA Today Sports

A slew of injuries on the Memphis Grizzlies has provided ample opportunity for Tony Allen to secure more playing time, and with that, his value is higher than it's been in quite some time.

Teams around the Association are currently reaching out to the franchise to gauge interest on potential trades for Allen, and the Grizzlies are at least open to the idea of moving him, sources told the Commercial Appeal's Ronald Tillery.

Over his last eight games, the 34-year-old veteran is averaging 13.9 points on 52.8 percent shooting, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.1 steals in 32.5 minutes.

Allen has already missed eight games due to a knee and groin injury. Injuries have constantly been a red flag of his throughout his 13-year career, as he hasn't suited up for at least 70 games since 2012-13.

Memphis doesn't suffer much statistically when Allen exits games, and with a logjam in the backcourt, dealing Allen could aid in improving another area of the roster, specifically the team's lack of size in the frontcourt.
