The Sacramento Kings won't find a shortage of interest in disgruntled forward Rudy Gay.

The 30-year-old swingman figures to be a prime trade candidate in the coming months since he already informed Kings management he would decline his player option to test free agency next summer.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been linked to Gay for months, and the two teams nearly reached an agreement before Thunder guard Cameron Payne injured his foot, Adrian Wojnarowski revealed on the "Vertical Podcast with Woj."

"Oklahoma City, they got down to the wire before Cameron Payne's injury. They had some very serious talks with Sacramento," Wojnarowski said.

The Houston Rockets and Indiana Pacers have also showed interest in Gay.

"OKC, Indiana has had interest in him, Houston had some periphery interest - but I don't think they have the pieces to trade," Wojnarowski added.

Gay holds averages of 18.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and three assists while shooting 45.5 percent from the field and 34.9 percent from deep. The talented forward is capable of defending multiple positions and would fit nicely as a third option for a playoff team.

He makes $13.3 million this season and holds a player option worth $14.3 million that he plans to decline for the 2017-18 season.
