Ross blames missed windmill on 'curse of Vince Carter'

All context will be omitted when Terrence Ross' missed windmill jam is looped endlessly on blooper reels.

It won't matter that Ross went on a personal 10-0 run before the play to secure his team the win, nor that he got the steal to create that fast-break opportunity in the first place. What will be remembered is his spectacular miss - something Ross attributed to a former Raptors great.

"I don't know man. I started calling it the curse of Vince Carter. Nobody is allowed to do two-foot windmills in the ACC until he retires," Ross joked to reporters after the 22-point win.

"It's going to be on every meme, every social media, so I'm going to get used to seeing it around but hopefully it goes away soon."

Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry said the team would spare Ross the grief, knowing that the ruthless Inside the NBA broadcast would take care of it.

"Shaqtin' A Fool will have coverage of it so we don't have to give him too much grief," Lowry deadpanned.

As for Ross, this entire ordeal taught him one important lesson: keep it simple.

"I'm just going to start laying it up," the former dunk champion said.
