Lakers' Williams putting up historical numbers off the bench

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

Lou Williams is booming, but the Los Angeles Lakers aren't winning.

After his 35-point outing in L.A.'s 119-115 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Friday, Williams has scored the most points in a four-game NBA span off the bench since 1970.

The Lakers lost all four games, including one to the Houston Rockets by 39 points. Williams was a combined 41-for-72 from the floor in the contests, including a 48.5 percent mark from beyond the arc.

The Lakers have been without D'Angelo Russell and Nick Young for a prolonged period now, but may be close to getting both back.
