Rockets' Donatas Motiejunas: Rockets stand pat on contract negotiations
The Rockets aren't expected to withdraw their offer sheet to Motiejunas despite his refusal to report to the team, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis:
Motiejunas remains unhappy with the Rockets over the terms of the contract, as he's set to be paid $6 million less with the Rockets than he wouldn've received by going to the Nets, who submitted the original offer sheet. He recently failed to report for a physical and appears to be holding out, but the Rockets plan to stand pat with their offer sheet, so Motiejunas will not be able to sign with another team. While this could change eventually, it appears for now, Motiejunas won't be going elsewhere and will continue to sit out until both sides are able to agree on a mutually beneficial deal.
