Wizards' John Wall: Scores 52 in losing effort
Wall scored 52 points (18-31 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 11-14 FT) and added eight assists, four rebounds, and three steals in 42 minutes during Tuesday's 124-116 loss to the Magic.
Analysis:
Wall set his career high for scoring, but did not get enough help from his teammates to secure a win. This was the first time Wall had fewer than 10 assists in the past five games, but part of that is due to the poor shooting of his teammates - the rest of his team shot only 41.9 percent on the night. In his first nine appearances this season, Wall averaged 32.6 minutes, 22.9 points, and 8.4 assists. Since then, he has averaged 39.2 minutes, 25.2 points, and 11.1 assists. The early season limitations placed on Wall following his offseason knee surgeries are clearly over with, and Wall's recent pace would set career highs in minutes, points, and assists.
