Lakers' Metta World Peace: Will start Monday

World Peace will get a spot start at shooting guard for Monday's matchup against the Jazz, Serena Winters of Lakers Nation reports.

Analysis:

The Lakers are without D'Angelo Russell (knee) and Jose Calderon (hamstring), so it is currently slim pickings in the backcourt. The expectation was that Jordan Clarkson would get the start, but he has been struggling to produce while getting a lot of extra run due to the aforementioned injuries. Both Clarkson and Lou Williams will presumably get most of the work in the backcourt as the game progresses. World Peace has played in seven games this season, with a season-high 14 minutes on Nov. 23 in a blowout loss to the Warriors.
