Knicks' Rose: I want to play 'the rest of my life' in New York
While he's likely to have plenty of suitors when he becomes an unrestricted free agent next summer, Derrick Rose isn't looking to leave the Big Apple anytime soon.
"I'm under a one-year contract, so of course I want to play the rest of my life here," Rose told Peter Walsh of SLAM Online. "But it takes time, it takes patience to figure out how everyone is going to fit, if it is going to fit, and going from there."
After a lackluster start to the season, the Knicks have been hot of late, winning six of their last nine contests, and eclipsing triple digits in all but two. Given the high degree of roster turnover they experienced this summer, it's not unrealistic to believe their hot play could continue as their chemistry develops.
"Finding out how we're going to win games, we got 10 new people on the team - it's not like they had a foundation here and we came right into it," Rose said. "We're building the culture. We're building the foundation now."
In 18 game this season, the former MVP is averaging 16.4 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game.
