Pelicans' Tyreke Evans: Dealing with tightness in calf

Evans, who's yet to make his season debut because of a knee injury, is now dealing with tightness in his calf as well and remains without a timetable for a return, Justin Verrier of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Evans indicated just over a week ago that his knee was feeling pain free and he was hoping to make his season debut during the first week of December. However, now that he's added a calf injury on to his previous knee injury, it appears his original hopes for a return may be delayed until later in the month. The Pelicans likely don't want to bring him back too soon and risk another aggravation of either of the injuries, so look for coach Alvin Gentry to take it slow with Evans and wait until he's 100 percent before entertaining the idea of bringing him back. Until he's been cleared for a return to practice, Evans shouldn't be considered close to a return.
