Adam Schefter's super-powerful Twitter account is about to get a bit stronger.

ESPN's lead NFL insider will be doing some work with the NBA after signing a new contract with the broadcaster.

Schefter will start by making television appearances as a sideline reporter and will debut a new podcast in January entitled "Know Them From Adam: The Adam Schefter Show."

The 49-year-old journalist has been known for breaking a heavy majority of NFL news stories, but wants to be known for more than his football tweets.

"I love what I do but you are always curious to try different things," Schefter told Sports Illustrated's Richard Deitsch. "I know people think of me as this robot who doesn’t do anything outside of NFL news, injury reports, contact extensions, and hirings and firings. I love all that stuff but everyone likes to do things a little different or outside the box."

Schefter has been one of the most respected and trusted NFL journalists throughout his career. After some time, he will likely establish NBA sources and add a few more followers to the 5.56 million he already has on Twitter.

The insider credits his love of NBA daily fantasy as part of the reason for taking on a new sport.

"I went from knowing nothing about the NBA a couple of years ago to knowing every player on every roster," Schefter said. "It’s become a side hobby and the bosses are aware of that."
