Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Ruled out for next two games

Russell (knee) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Thunder and Wednesday's game against the Warriors.

Analysis:

It was already reported about an hour earlier that Russell would sit out the matchup with the Thunder, but the Lakers decided that the point guard could benefit from sitting out both halves of the team's back-to-back set while he contends with a sore left knee. It's expected that Jose Calderon will start both games in Russell's absence, though reserves Jordan Clarkson and Lou Williams are expected to handle the lion's share of the duties at the position. The Lakers will track Russell's progress over the next few days before determining if he'll be fit to play in the team's rematch with the Warriors on Friday.
