Jazz's Joe Johnson: Production suffering with move to bench
Johnson finished with 10 points (4-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one block across 27 minutes in Sunday's 105-91 loss to the Nuggets.
Analysis:
Since moving to a bench role back on Nov. 6 following the return of Gordon Hayward from a finger injury, Johnson's production predictably crashed. The veteran swingman is averaging only 6.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 0.9 three-pointers in 21.6 minutes per game during that span. While Johnson remains a valuable role player at this stage of his career, he's largely devoid of fantasy upside when Hayward and fellow starting wing Rodney Hood are healthy.
