MJ presents Russ at induction to Oklahoma Hall of Fame
Russell Westbrook was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame Thursday night, and Michael Jordan introduced the Thunder star. Jordan didn't mince too many words about Westbrook's sense of loyalty to the state and the Oklahoma City community.
"Another thing you guys should be proud of is the sense of loyalty this kid has shown. He could have easily come to Charlotte," the Hornets owner joked to the banquet.
"I'm not here to try and bash anybody that's not here," Jordan said. "Everybody has a choice ... but when I saw he chose to stay in Oklahoma I was so proud ... I texted him to show a sense of respect."
Westbrook introduced former teammate Kevin Durant at the same Hall of Fame induction last year. Thunder fans embittered by Durant's summertime defection to the Golden State Warriors found some solace when Westbrook subsequently renegotiated his contract with the team, committing to OKC through at least 2018.
As always, Russ the fashion plate didn't disappoint with his formal wear.
