Pelicans' Quincy Pondexter: Still no timetable for return

Pondexter (knee) remains without a timetable for a return, ESPN.com's Justin Verrier reports. "With Quincy, we should get a better understanding [on his health] if not [by] the end of the week, then the beginning of next week," Pelicans GM Dell Demps said Tuesday. "And then we'll hopefully get him back on the court."

Analysis:

Demps had previously indicated in late October that Pondexter's condition would be reevaluated in about two weeks, but the Pelicans have continued to hold off on doing that. It's likely an indication that Pondexter hasn't made much progress since that time, and it seems increasingly likely the veteran forward won't be able to play until the calendar flips to 2017. Pondexter hasn't played in an NBA game since the 2014-15 postseason after requiring two procedures to address his left knee.
