Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley will return to the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Portland Trail Blazers, head coach Mike D'Antoni told ESPN's Calvin Watkins.

Beverley has been out of the Rockets' lineup since undergoing knee surgery last month. The Chicago native was originally expected to miss the first 20 games of the 2016-17 season.

The 28-year-old is likely to see the majority of his time at shooting guard, with James Harden dominating at the point this season.

The 6-foot-1 guard averaged 9.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.3 steals in 71 games for Houston this past season.

Houston has fared well without Beverley, going 6-4 in his absence.

Corey Brewer will likely return to the bench upon Beverley's return.
