Knicks put Rambis in charge of defense
The New York Knicks have wasted no time attempting to solve their defensive woes.
After beginning the season 2-4, assistant coach Kurt Rambis will oversee the defense going forward, head coach Jeff Hornacek told ESPN's Ian Begley. The Knicks currently rank dead-last in defensive efficiency, while giving up the fourth-most points per game.
The decision to promote Rambis is a curious one, as the Minnesota Timberwolves never finished higher than 27th in defensive rating during the two years he served as head coach.
Rambis also spent time as New York's interim head coach last season, going just 9-19 over 28 games.
Report: Jackson displeased with Knicks' misuse of triangle
While the defense has been a clear weakness, president Phil Jackson is reportedly also unhappy with how little the Knicks have used his triangle this season, despite ranking 13th in offensive efficiency.
