Hornets' Kidd-Gilchrist day to day with sore lower back
The Charlotte Hornets finished Monday night's game against the Indiana Pacers without swingman Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who sat out the whole fourth quarter with a sore lower back.
Kidd-Gilchrist, who'd returned after briefly leaving the game earlier to have his back evaluated, will be listed day to day.
The Hornets buried the Pacers early, building a 21-point lead through the first three frames, so holding out Kidd-Gilchrist didn't affect the outcome. He wrought havoc at both ends before being forced to leave, finishing with 13 points (on 4-of-4 shooting) and a game-high plus-27 rating in just 19 minutes.
Kidd-Gilchrist played just seven games last season due to a separated shoulder and torn labrum that required two different surgeries, and given his recent injury history, the Hornets will likely play things cautiously moving forward.
