Pistons' Jackson receives clearance to begin on-court activities

Raj Mehta / USA TODAY Sports

Detroit Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson has been cleared to resume basketball activities, head coach Stan Van Gundy said Sunday, according to The Detroit News' Rod Beard.

The timetable lines up with Jackson's own prediction two weeks ago, and it's likely he will need a week or two of practice before being ready for game action. The 26-year-old was shelved after undergoing platelet-rich plasma treatment for tendinitis in his left knee last month.

Without Jackson, the Pistons are 4-2 through six games and have had Ish Smith starting in his place.
