Kings' Gay won't play vs. Bucks due to rib cartilage strain

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Sacramento Kings forward Rudy Gay has been ruled out of Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks with a rib cartilage strain, reports ABC10's Sean Cunningham.

The Kings have a short turnaround after the contest, flying to Toronto for a 6 p.m. ET start against the Raptors on Sunday.

On Friday, Gay said his ribs bothered him during Thursday's loss to the Orlando Magic. That came two days after the 11-year veteran had his best game of the season in a loss to the Miami Heat, scoring 30 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

The 30-year-old is widely expected to be moved before the trade deadline, but for the time being hasn't proven to be much of a sideshow or distraction.
