The much-anticipated showdown between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors was decidedly lopsided, as Durant's new team beat the snot out of his old team.

Westbrook stood idly by wearing a steely bitter stare opposite a jubilant Durant who looked comfortable in his own skin for the first time since his unceremonious exit from Oklahoma City. He controlled his narrative for once and there was no other conclusion to be made other than that of a flawless victory.

After months of playing passive aggressive broken telephone through the media, Durant finally got Westbrook on the same court, and to the victor goes the spoils.

Here's everything that went Durant's way in Thursday's heavyweight bout:

Winning the Westbrook matchup

First and foremost, Durant played a near-flawless game. He finished with 39 points and seven rebounds and posted the second-best plus-minus on the night as a plus-21.

Durant's seven threes matched a career high, and his 39 points were the most scored by a player in their first meeting with their previous team since Stephon Marbury dropped 39 in his return to Minnesota as a member of the Nets.

Meanwhile, Westbrook came out flat. The Warriors threw triple teams his way anytime he had the ball and they were diligent in preventing him from getting loose in transition.

Westbrook had 20 points on 4-of-15 shooting with six turnovers, and even his petty wardrobe jab backfired as he was victimized by a string of clever Twitter photoshops:

Crushing OKC's spirit

The Thunder managed only 11 points in the second quarter as the Warriors put the clamps on them on defense. That's where the game was won.

On the other end, Durant carried the Warriors by scoring 16 points in the second quarter alone. He dunked, rained threes, swatted shots, and talked a whole bunch of smack along the way.

Durant jawed at Jerami Grant, gave an earful to Enes Kanter, swatted Westbrook twice, then ended the third quarter by beating all five OKC defenders for a thunderous one-handed dunk.

Owned the postgame podium

The beatdown continued even after the game was won as Durant went to town on former teammates that jawed at him.

First and foremost, Durant took aim at Kanter, who went scoreless in three minutes. Durant got the last word on that one.

"He was talking to me. How many minutes he play? ... I'm sure he's going to put something on Twitter tonight," Durant said.

Durant also brushed aside Westbrook's petty attire jab.

"I don't care about what nobody wear to the game. Who gives a s---. I don't care what he wore," Durant said, as relayed by ESPN's Chris Haynes.

And finally, Durant turned back to sink one last dagger into the hearts of OKC fans.

"I've moved forward. I'm a part of the Golden State Warriors, and I'm excited to be a part of this team," Durant said, according to Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle.
