Celtics' Smart to make season debut vs. Bulls

Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

The Boston Celtics will have their full complement of guards on Wednesday night for the first time this season.

Point guard Marcus Smart, who hasn't played since spraining his left ankle during a preseason game two weeks ago, said Monday that he will suit up when the Celtics host the Chicago Bulls.

Smart has struggled with injuries - specifically to his left leg and ankle - since being drafted sixth overall in 2014. Just three games into his third NBA season, he's already had to sit out 38 games due to injury.

In his sophomore season, Smart averaged 9.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, three assists, and 1.5 steals, while shooting 34.8 percent from the field and 25.3 percent from 3-point range.
