Bulls' Taj Gibson: Works with starters Saturday
Gibson worked with the starters during the scrimmage portion of Saturday's practice, KC Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Analysis:
While Gibson said he still is not sure whether he'll start or not, it's worth noting that Johnson tweeted it would be a "surprise" if the veteran isn't in the starting lineup when the Bulls open the regular season. Gibson is in competition with Nikola Mirotic and second-year man Bobby Portis for the power forward spot, and coach Fred Hoiberg is yet to tip his hand as to who may have the advantage. As Johnson alludes, Gibson probably makes the most sense at this point, though it's entirely possible all three players could see time in the starting lineup as the season progresses.
