Heat's Dion Waiters: Rests up in preseason finale

Waiters (coach's decision) didn't play in Friday's preseason finale against the 76ers.

Analysis:

The Heat didn't list Waiters with an injury heading into contest, so he was presumably just being rested for the second half of a back-to-back set. With double-digit scoring performances in six of his seven preseason appearances accompanied by efficient shooting across the board, Waiters has put himself in position as the favorite to start at shooting guard when the regular season opens Tuesday against the Magic.
