Bulls' Denzel Valentine: Hopes to be ready for opener

Valentine (ankle) hopes to be available for the regular season opener, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports. "That's the plan", Valentine said. "But if not, then just have to keep going with how I feel. Hopefully I'm back soon."

Analysis:

Valentine has already been ruled out of the Bulls' preseason finale on Thursday, which means he'll have an additional week off for rest and recovery prior to the regular season opener on Oct. 27 against the Celtics. He's quoted saying the plan is for him to be ready by then, but his practice availability over the next week should give us a better indication of his status.
