Report: Bosh isn't planning comeback this season

While Chris Bosh has expressed his intent to one day return to the NBA, he appears willing to delay his comeback for the time being.

The 11-time All-Star is making no attempt to force the Heat to release him, and isn't planning to play this season, The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson reports. An attempt to play in 2017-18 is instead considered more likely.

The NBPA is reportedly "monitoring" how the Heat handle Bosh's salary situation, and may get involved should Miami hinder Bosh from playing with another team. Reports last week stated the Heat are likely to keep the big man on the roster until March 1 to ensure he's not playoff eligible.

Should Bosh play a minimum of 25 games in a season, his salary would reappear on Miami's cap, potentially causing significant problems should they attempt to land a big-name free agent next summer.

Bosh hasn't played an NBA game since February, when the discovery of blood clots forced him to miss the remainder of the season for the second year in a row.
